When is the next Dreamlight Valley update release date?

With another Dreamlight Valley update always on the way, and new Disney and Pixar faces joining the valley every few weeks, here’s who’s next.

What is the next Dreamlight Valley update? Each new Dreamlight Valley update adds new characters, features, and quests to the life sim, and the roster of Dreamlight Valley residents has expanded so much already – and shows no signs of slowing down. Fans on social media have previously requested the likes of Cinderella, Belle, and Stitch, and with Cinders the only one missing now, we know Gameloft is listening.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has never been better thanks to the colorful life game‘s new characters and mechanics. Its vibrant community makes it even better, especially with more multiplayer functions being added, and a paid DLC brings even more biomes and residents to your valley if you want them. Even if you don’t want to splash out on paid content, there are still plenty of new Dreamlight Valley recipes, characters, realms, and more added to the base game regularly, so here’s everything we know about the next free Dreamlight Valley update.

Next Dreamlight Valley update

We expect the next Dreamlight Valley update to land on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. This is based on the roadmap shown below and the consistent two-month update schedule of the past, combined with a history of Wednesday release dates and a Star Path end date of October 2.

According to the roadmap, the next update should introduce Timon and Pumbaa to the valley, and with this update arriving in early October, there’s still time for a final 2024 update in December. Usually, there are a few days of downtime between one Star Path and the next update, so presumably the next update will launch on October 9, leaving a week after the end of the current Dapper Delights Star Path.

In the last update, Dapper Delights, Tiana arrived in the valley alongside the paid Rift in Time DLC, but the Princess and the Frog character and everything she brought with her are all completely free for anyone with the base game. That includes some tasty new ingredients and Dreamlight Valley recipes courtesy of Tiana’s Palace, a brand-new valley eatery.

Dreamlight Valley update schedule

A new roadmap for 2024 confirms that Timon and Pumbaa come to the valley in the next update, followed by Sally in a final update for 2024.

  • June 26, 2024: The Lucky Dragon saw Mulan and Mushu arrive via their own Realm.
  • May 1, 2024: Help Daisy Duck beautify the valley in the Thrills and Frills update.
  • February 28, 2024: The Laugh Floor brings Mike and Sulley through the door and into the human realm.
  • December 5, 2023: The Pumpkin King Returns sees Jack Skellington find his way back to the valley.
  • September 13, 2023: Enchanted Adventure update opens the Beauty and the Beast realm.
  • July 19, 2023: In the DreamSnaps update, take your best trackside photos as Vanellope Von Schweetz races into the valley, and a new photo contest is released.
  • June 6, 2023: Update 5, The Remembering, reveals the Fairy Godmother as the resident of the pumpkin house, and adds a massive new storyline in which you come face to face with The Forgetting themselves.
  • April 5, 2023: Update 4, Pride of the Valley, adds a The Lion King realm, in which a story unravels starring Simba and Nala – and a lot of Hyenas. There’s also a new surprise when you increase your friendship with Buzz.
  • February 16, 2023: A Festival of Friendship reunites Olaf with Elsa, introducing us to Mirabel Madrigal and the Mini-Casita.
  • December 6, 2023: Update 2, Missions in Uncharted Space lets you unlock Stitch in Dreamlight Valley, and Toy Story characters Buzz and Woody.
  • October 19, 2023: Scar’s Kingdom adds Dreamlight Valley Scar quests to the Disney game, revealing the new Mines, and new resources.
