The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update system requirements

What are The Witcher 3 system requirements? The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 saw the high-end requirements of the game altered, but most modern gaming PCs should still have no trouble running the game.

You’ll only need the best graphics card if you’re aiming for flawless 4K performance, and even then The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt recommends using upscaling tech to help keep things running smoothly.

Here are The Witcher 3 system requirements in 2024:

Minimum Recommended
Resolution 1080p 1080p
OS Windows 7 64-bit Windows 10 64-bit

AMD Radeon R9 290

The Witcher 3 minimum requirements are very low in comparison to most games released in 2024, and it’s no surprise given the game is almost a decade old. An Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 will get the job done alongside an Intel Core i5-2500K and 6GB of RAM.

As for the Witcher 3 recommended specs raise the bar a little, but still pale in comparison to most minimum specs for games in 2024. You’ll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 alongside an Intel Core i7-3770 while also having 6GB of RAM.

Skipping over to the Witcher 3 ultra specs, or as they’re called here the “All RT on” specs, this is where the modern hardware comes into play. You’ll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 paired with an Intel Core i7-9700K and 16GB of RAM.

Despite the big leap in hardware, you’ll still need Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR active to achieve the most desirable performance, which is expected. If you have an Nvidia RTX 4000-series card, Frame Generation is also available and can boost performance considerably. Unfortunately, AMD FSR 2.1 doesn’t include Frame Generation, meaning the only way to access it currently would be via a mod.

While The Witcher 3 will still run on a hard drive, we’d strongly recommend playing it on the best SSD for gaming you have to hand, as it’ll massively improve load times in the game and also allow you to download the game files much faster.
