Ruby on Rails development with Eclipse and RadRails

To successfully install Aptana RadRails into Eclipse without installing the full Aptana Studio:

  1. Install Eclipse if you haven’t already
  2. In Eclipse go to “Help->Software Updates->Find and Install…”
  3. Select “Search for new features to install”
  4. Click the “Next >” button
  5. Click the “New Remote Site…” button
  6. Enter “Aptana Studio” for the Name and “http://update.aptana.com/update/studio/3.2/” for the URL
  7. Click the “OK” button
  8. Click the “New Remote Site…” button again
  9. Enter “Aptana RadRails” for the Name and “http://update.aptana.com/install/rails/3.2/” for the URL
  10. Click the “OK” button
  11. Click the “Finish” button

Complete the installation by following the instructions and that’s it, you now have a Ruby on Rails IDE.
