Warzone Season 6 release date - The Haunting returns

We have the Warzone Season 6 release date - The Haunting including new operators, map variants, and two new weapons to bolster your arsenal.

What is the Warzone Season 6 release date? Both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are constantly changing, and whether you’re a fan of the free-to-play battle royale, the many MW3 multiplayer modes, or all of the above, there’s something new to enjoy with the arrival of each new season.

Whether it’s in battle royale game Warzone, or Modern Warfare 3 in general, the CoD devs are always looking to go above and beyond with each new content drop. This can lead to some wild collabs – Season 4’s mech-filled Gundam crossover being a prime example. Season 6 injected some spookiness into proceedings, and scared the living daylights out of us before Halloween hits.

Warzone Season 6 release date

The Warzone Season 6 release date was Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The update brought a host of Halloween-themed events and cosmetics.

Season 6 – The Haunting – has made an appearance several times before in Warzone. We still remember wandering around the haunted village outside of the castle in Verdansk, not knowing whether the creepy sounds were the former residents or an enemy looking to gun us down. Good times.

Scary season is infecting the current Resurgence maps in the form of living tentacles that slither across the landscape on Rebirth Island, and a Blood Moon that hovers – menacingly, we’re sure – over the city of Vondel.

Zombie Royale also made a comeback with Season 6: when you die you come back as an undead warrior, with the ability to swipe, leap, and gnaw on anything living. Collect vials to come back to life and try to outlast the overwhelming odds.

Michael Myers will also make an appearance, dropping as an operator in Season 6. It’s time to put his reputation as an unstoppable force to the test.

New Warzone weapons

Two new weapons arrived with the Warzone Season 6 update, they are:

  • DTIR 30-06 (Battle Pass sector 6)
  • Kastov LSW (Battle Pass sector 9)

The DTIR 30-06 is a slow-firing battle rifle, one that we’ve likely seen many times before. Best fitted for mid-range combat, these types of weapons can be deadly in the right hands, but you can come unstuck if faced with an overly aggressive opponent.

The Kastov LSW is quite interesting, however. An LMG that’s designed for close-range combat isn’t something we’ve seen outside of outrageous custom loadouts and perhaps an aftermarket part or two. The Kastov LSW has a 100-round magazine by default and a fire rate that should strike fear in the hearts of your enemies. Its range isn’t the best out of the box, but specializing this gun for CQB could be very overpowered indeed.
