What is the Diablo 4 DLC release date? As if the latest in the long-running series wasn’t big enough as a campaign and ongoing seasonal content, we now know there are at least two Diablo 4 expansions in the works.
We can draw on our knowledge of Diablo 4, as well as our attendance at Blizzcon 2023 and Summer Games Fest 2024, to give you the latest on the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred release date. We already know we can expect at least one new Diablo 4 class to change the meta completely, but we’re also hoping for new items for excitingly powerful Diablo 4 builds, and encounters with Prime Evils not seen in the base game.
Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred release date
The Diablo 4 DLC release date is set for October 8, 2024. Named Vessel of Hatred, the DLC adds a new class, a new region, and much more.
Alongside the release date announcement, we also received confirmation that the Spiritborn is the latest class to join the RPG. Game director Brent Gibson says, “The Spiritborn are apex predators built for the jungle, with a flow and a feel I can’t wait for you to experience.” To compliment the Spiritborn, the new Vessel of Hatred region is the vast, gloomy jungle of Nahantu. Alongside the usual style of dungeons and enemies, Nahantu is also home to warring Tribes.
Though Blizzard hasn’t given released any definitive timeline for its expansion releases, we expect these content packs to launch every two years or so. That would place Vessel of Hatred towards the end of this year, and the second untitled expansion in early to mid-2026.
Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred trailers
Without spoiling the end of the main Diablo 4 story, Mephisto makes it clear that he’s still lurking around. As he narrates the trailer for Vessel of Hatred, we’re likely going to come face-to-face with him again soon.
The trailer was shown for the first time at Blizzcon in November 2023 and features shots of the new jungle environment, alongside Mephisto speaking of his ever-growing power. In the following release date trailer, we see that Neyrelle, who took the Worldstone following the events of Diablo 4, is beginning to lose control of her mind to the currently sealed-away Mephisto.
All upcoming Diablo 4 DLC
In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Diablo 4 general manager Rod Fergusson confirmed the existence of multiple Diablo 4 expansions, explaining that the development team is “working on expansion one” and “kicking off expansion two”. So far, nothing else has been announced outside of Vessel of Hatred.
And that’s everything we know about the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion. There’s also plenty of information about the Diablo 4 battle pass if you want bonus cosmetic items or the Diablo 4 World Tiers if you want that extra challenge. Finally, if you’re still on the fence and haven’t jumped into Sanctuary yourself yet, here’s our Diablo 4 review with our thoughts on the demon-slaying game.
