How many chapters are in Black Myth Wukong? Like its literary source material, Game Science’s adaptation of Journey to the West is a linear, story-driven action game split into several episodic chapters. Each chapter occurs in a different location and concludes with an epic stand-off against a Yaoguai King to retrieve one of Sun Wukong’s sacred relics.
All chapters in Black Myth Wukong include a selection of main, optional, and secret Black Myth Wukong bosses to defeat. Certain Black Myth Wukong spells and transformations are only available in certain chapters, so it’s important to watch out for them on your quest through the action-adventure game. Here’s how many chapters you need to complete before you see the Destined One’s epic journey through to the end.
How long is Black Myth Wukong?
Black Myth Wukong takes around 25-30 hours to beat the main story, while a completionist playthrough can take over 60 hours. This estimate is based on our own playthrough and the time taken to complete it.
While Game Science had assured us prior to release that its action game would take “approximately 15+ hours to complete,” we found this to be a major underestimation.
As our Black Myth Wukong review attests, “the average first playthrough is at least double this prospective playtime, and that’s before you include time to backtrack, explore, and complete side-quests.” You also have to take into account any additional time taken to refine your Black Myth Wukong build and overcome difficult bosses that may hinder your progress.
